Terms of service
Last updated November 2, 2026
These terms explain how working with Pinegate Web works. They are written to be read. If anything is unclear, email ben@pinegateweb.com and ask.
Free previews
- A preview is free and comes with no obligation.
- It uses only public details about your business. It is not live, it is not listed anywhere, and only someone with the private link can see it.
- We take a preview down whenever you ask.
Agreeing on the work
Before any paid work starts, we agree in writing on what we will build and the price. Our current prices are on the prices page. If a written agreement says something different, the written agreement applies.
Payment
We bill by invoice. A new website goes live once its invoice is paid. Payment is due as stated on the invoice.
Your content
You approve all wording, facts, prices and photos before your site goes live. When you send us text, logos or photos, you confirm you have the right to use them. You keep ownership of everything you send us.
Who owns the site
Once paid, your site is yours, and you get a copy of its files. We keep the right to reuse our own general code, layouts and design patterns in other work, never your content, logo, photos or branding. Your domain is registered in your name, and your hosting account is in your name. If you ask, we transfer your domain to another provider for free. New domains have a 60 day transfer lock set by the registry rules, so a transfer can only finish 60 days after the domain is first registered.
Domain renewal
With a new website, the first year of a standard domain name, such as a .com, .net or .org at its normal yearly price, is included. Premium domains are not included. If you already own a domain, we connect your site to it and you keep paying for it as you do now. For a domain we registered for you, the renewal from the second year on is part of the care plan. Without a care plan, we bill the renewal to you at cost.
The care plan
The care plan is optional and billed monthly by invoice. You can cancel at any time by email. It stops at the end of the month you have already paid for, and there is no cancellation fee. The care plan covers up to 30 minutes of small edits a month; larger changes are quoted first. We can end the plan or change its price with 30 days notice by email; a new price applies only from the first billing month that starts at least 30 days after the notice, and you can cancel before it does.
What we do not promise
We build your site carefully and set it up so search engines can understand it. We do not guarantee search rankings, calls, bookings or sales. We never write, buy or reward reviews.
Other services
Your site may rely on services run by other companies, such as your hosting provider, your domain registrar or a booking tool. Those services have their own terms. We are not responsible for their outages or changes, but we will help where we can and quote larger work first.
Limits
If something we built does not work as we agreed, tell us within 30 days after your site goes live and we will fix it at no charge. After that, small fixes count toward the care plan's 30 minutes a month, and larger work is quoted first. Our total responsibility for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the work in question.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
